Bishops Carpet One And Jays Carpet One Team Up For Home Build

CUSTOMIZED SMART HOME FROM THE BUILDING FOR AMERICA’S BRAVEST PROGRAM.

An injured veteran dedicated to inspiring others to live their best lives will now live his own best life as the latest recipient of a customized Smart Home from the Building for America’s Bravest program. Despite his visible scars, retired U.S. Army Sgt. Rick Yarosh said he’s found great happiness as a motivational speaker. His new Smart Home gives him yet another reason to smile.

In late May, Rick and his family were handed the keys to a beautiful, mortgage-free Smart Home in Vestal, NY.  Bishop’s Carpet One Floor& Home in Ithaca, NY and Jay Carpet One Floor & Home in Horseheads, NY both assisted in this amazing endeavor, donating and installing carpeting and luxury vinyl plank that allows Rick to move throughout his home with comfort and ease.

A housewarming ceremony was held just before Memorial Day weekend, where the Yarosh family was welcomed home with much fanfare. Carpet One Floor & Home staff, members, and officials from the Stephen Siller Tunnels to Towers Foundation were all on hand to welcome Rick home.

Rick enlisted in the Army in 2004 after being inspired by a tale of a local fallen hero. He sustained life-altering injuries after being struck by an IED during a patrol in Abu Ghraib, Iraq. Suffering burns on over half his body, Rick would ultimately lose his lower right leg, as well as function in his hands.

That hasn’t stopped him, however, from finding his true calling as a motivational speaker, traveling all over the country to share his story with young people in hopes of inspiring others to stay positive. For more information on Rick’s good works, visit his website, www.rickyarosh.net.
